Toys for Tots

On December 14th, your state officers volunteered at a Toys for Tots sorting event in Dover. The distribution center received thousands of toys and your officers helped out by sorting through these toys and hand-picking them for children in need this holiday season. American Legion Event

On December 6th, DETSA State Officers volunteered at a fundraiser event for Toys for Tots and Code Purple. We worked the American Legion assisting the two local charities in raising money. At this event, many toys were donated for those children whose families cannot afford them. We also raised money through raffle tickets, and 50-50 drawings. Code Purple

The Delaware TSA state officers met in November for the month’s service project. Collaborating with Code Purple, your officers were able to prepare casserole dishes that went to the homeless in Delaware so that we can bring holiday cheer to those in need. Code Purple is an organization that provides shelter, warm food, and new clothes to the homeless in freezing weather conditions. Verizon Innovative App Challenge

TSA is running the Verizon Innovative App Challenge for the fourth year in a row. Middle school and high school teams have the chance to win mobile devices, $20,000 for their schools, and the opportunity to be recognized at the 2016 national TSA conference in Nashville, TN. Haunted Trail Service Project

Last October, the Delaware TSA state officers volunteered as actors in an event called Fright Night at Brecknock Park. The haunted attraction is very famous around the Camden and Dover area and has 29 spooky scenes, including an abandoned bus, toxic wasteland, and a maze around a barn.
