I joined TSA in sixth grade and have been actively involved ever since. Competing, learning, and growing through TSA during my seventh and eighth-grade years has been a rewarding experience. Over the past three years, I’ve taken on various roles in my chapter’s officer team, serving as treasurer, vice president, and president. In this capacity, I’ve successfully raised our chapter’s enrollment by 50%. I’ve also organized several fundraising initiatives, including a skate night at our local skating rink, a candy gram fundraiser, and a Vertical Raise event. I also implemented a mentorship program for sixth graders interested in joining TSA at our school.

Beyond TSA, I’m also involved in FCCLA, BPA, and FFA. I participate in the Blue and Gold Club, assisting special needs students with their tasks and schoolwork. I’m an Allstate Band and Choir member in my free time. Two of my favorite TSA events are chapter team competitions and video game design. I am eager to become a state officer, as I want to help TSA grow and thrive. This organization has significantly shaped my leadership and teamwork skills, and I look forward to giving back and inspiring others along the way!

Elisha Liu
Hey DETSA! I am Elisha Liu, currently a sophomore at Appoquinimink High School. This year, I am so excited to have an opportunity to be considered for state officer in the 2025-2026 DETSA State Officer Election!

During my time at TSA, I have had the chance to pursue my passions, step out of my comfort zone, and develop new skills through countless opportunities. I am grateful for these opportunities, so I wanted to give back to TSA by serving as treasurer of my local TSA chapter and as a mentee on the DETSA State Committee Mentorship Program. However, through these experiences, I realized I’m passionate about furthering my involvement in TSA!

Essentially, as DETSA’s state reporter, I want to ensure that everyone in TSA has adequate resources and support to pursue their passions in TSA competitions, similar to the experience I received during my experience in TSA. My experience was filled with support and resources, and sometimes that can be a struggle for many.

With my experiences, such as being the co-founder of STEM & Seniors, a student-led initiative for seniors and STEM, instructor assistant at my Taekwondo school, and volunteer at the BVSPCA, these positions have taught me skills that can serve effectively in the TSA State office—ranging from experiences of communicating with different people from different perspectives, meeting people of varying backgrounds, communicating and resolving conflicts, etc.

Thank you for listening to my story, and I hope to make TSA the best it can be for 2025-2026!
