Nearly 1,000 middle and high school students from across Delaware participated in the 2026 Delaware Technology Student Association (TSA) State Leadership Conference, held March 30–31 at the University of Delaware’s Clayton Hall. The conference brought together students from more than 40 schools statewide to demonstrate achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The event featured more than 1,800 contest entries across 66 competitive events spanning engineering design, robotics, cybersecurity, digital media, drones (UAV), and other emerging technologies. Through a combination of virtual competitions conducted throughout the year and live, on-site events, students applied technical knowledge, solved complex problems, and demonstrated innovation aligned to real-world careers.

Student participation spanned a wide range of experiences—from fast-paced team challenges like Structural Engineering and System Control Technology to hands-on engineering builds and creative design events such as Fashion Design & Technology. Students coded, constructed, tested, and presented their work, showcasing not only technical skill but creativity, collaboration, and persistence. The diversity of events highlights how students are engaging in meaningful, applied learning that mirrors real-world problem solving and innovation.

The conference also featured career-connected learning experiences, including sessions on artificial intelligence, clean energy, biomedical engineering, and game studies, alongside engagement with postsecondary partners such as the University of Delaware, Delaware Technical Community College, and workforce organizations including the American Red Cross and the Center for Clean Hydrogen. Students explored emerging industries, connected with professionals, and gained insight into future career pathways.

In addition to technical competitions, students participated in leadership-focused events including presentations, debates, and team-based challenges that build communication, collaboration, and professional skills. Top-performing students will advance to represent Delaware at the National TSA Conference, which will be held this summer at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor, where they will compete alongside chapters from across the United States and around the world, with nearly 10,000 students expected to attend.

The Delaware TSA State Leadership Conference reflects the strength of Career and Technical Education across the state where students are not only learning, but applying skills that prepare them for success in college, career, and beyond.
