On December 14th, your state officers volunteered at a Toys for Tots sorting event in Dover. The distribution center received thousands of toys and your officers helped out by sorting through these toys and hand-picking them for children in need this holiday season.
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children across the nation. December is the season of giving, but some families cannot afford to get their children toys. Toys for Tots aids in the distribution of holiday gifts to children across the country, ensuring that every child receives a present, regardless of financial circumstances.
Over 2,000 families will be given toys that they can give to their children. The event was a success, and it was definitely an enjoyable and rewarding team-building activity. At the same time, it let us help many families and bring joy to many children for the holidays.
There are many volunteer opportunities across the state of Delaware that you and your chapter can participate in. Not only is it a great team bonding experience, but it’s also a way to give back to your community. Toys for Tots will be needing help throughout the week with this distribution of toys. If your chapter is interested, you can contact Katheryn Hartley at [email protected] for more information on how to get involved.
