Happy National TSA Week! The State Officers hope everything is going well within your chapters. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Delaware TSA is proud to support such an important cause. Not only do the State Officers encourage you to participate alongside them in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run in Wilmington on Sunday, October 21, but they also hope you sell paper links as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Let’s get started on Delaware TSA’s goal of raising $100,000 for ACS!

Reminder- contact information for chapter officers is due on Tuesday, October 9 to Mr. Fitzgerald at The State Officer team cannot wait to meet the new student leaders in Delaware TSA! We hope to see you at the 2012 Leadership Conference!

The state officers are excited to share that the first of several monthly service projects has been a success! The team has agreed that it was a great experience to be able to serve our state and to help keep the beaches of Delaware safe and clean for everyone to enjoy. The State Officers have planned a full school year of service projects in addition to continued support for the American Cancer Society. Do not forget the importance of service to the community as members of TSA! The State Officer team invites you to participate in our monthly service projects. Please feel free to contact us to learn how you may participate!

The week of October 1 – October 5 is National TSA Week! What is your chapter doing in celebration? Below are a few ideas to help you get started:

  • Plan your own chapter service project! Find a local organization to volunteer support for, help spread the word about TSA, and get your chapter recognized!
  • Host a meeting at your school that showcases the things that your TSA chapter does! Have an in-chapter competition, display past projects, and invite students, parents, and staff.
  • Hang up posters and banners about National TSA Week in your school and/or wear TSA t-shirts or other attire to publicize your chapter! It’s your chance to answer the question, “what is TSA?”

National TSA Week is the perfect opportunity for your chapter to showcase your accomplishments to your community. During this week of recognition, you can help raise national awareness for Delaware TSA! Help us spread the word about what makes Delaware TSA great!

With fall already among us, TSA chapters are preparing for a busy year ahead of them and many schools across the state have already begun scheduling meetings and recruiting new members! As the leaves turn from crisp greens to golden auburns, the yearly TSA Leadership Conference hides just around the corner and this year should be one that students will never forget!

The date of the High School conference is October 29, and the date of the Middle School conference is October 30.

Once again sharing our conference with FCCLA, this year’s theme is “1920s”. Talk to your chapter advisor about attending the 2012 Leadership Conference. It will be run partly by FOCUS Training, and partly by your State Officer Team. Your advisor should have the necessary forms to fill out, and a copy of those forms are available below:
